Water Resources Engineer

Reports To: Senior Project Manager

Status: Permanent, Full Time Position

Years of Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience

Salary Band: Salary Band 3 ($42,273 – $64,726) – Intermediate; 
Salary Band 4 ($52,668-$79,002) – Senior

Summary:

Cambium is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our growing team.  The sucessful candidate must be a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of Ontario and should possess a degree in civil, water resources, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.  The incumbent will provide expertise in stormwater management and hydrology.

Job Duties:

• Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to project planning, scheduling, allocation of personnel and resources, budgeting, and regular communication with clients.
• Project coordination, technical leadership, and technical design for public and private sector clients in Ontario.
• Experience in developing and administering project proposals, work plans, and project costing/budgeting.
• A thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret environmental regulations, guidelines and standards.
• Ensure that all assigned project components are executed in accordance with the proposed work plan unless authorisation for a change is received from the client.
• May be responsible for invoicing clients on a monthly basis as assigned by senior management.
• Directly responsible for the health and safety of any person working on an assignment under the supervision of the project manager.
• Directly accountable for revenue, costs and profitability on all project tasks assigned.
• Competency with stormwater management model software such as HEC-RAS and one of the following: EPA SWMM, PCSWMM, or Visual Otthymo 2.0
• Stormwater management facility design for both quantity and quality control for developments.
• Hydraulic Analysis including floodplain analysis and culvert design.
• Provide training to junior and intermediate Cambium personnel
• Shiftwork and overtime may be required.
• Travel may be required.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Typically Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree
• Attention to detail in all undertakings is essential
• Superior organisational and communications skills are essential
• Licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario (P.Eng.)
• Familiarity with federal and provincial environmental legislation and regulations
• Familiarity with hydrogeology considered an asset
• Experience working with MODFLOW software considered an asset
• Desire to succeed in a dynamic, progressive organization
