Corporation of The City of Peterborough
Title: Designated Substance and Asbestos Containing Material Surveys
Location: Peterborough, Ontario
Year: 2007 to present
Client: The Corporation of the City of Peterborough
Cambium has completed multiple designated substance surveys for the Corporation of the City of Peterborough. Each project conducted involved assessing and sampling for potential ACM, both friable and non-friable, sampling paint for analysis of lead and mercury, and observing locations of all other designated substances (i.e. silica, benzene, etc.) followed by the completion of a report outlining the objectives of the project and the summarization of the analytical results. Potential ACM materials sampled included floor tiles, ceiling tiles, drywall, ceiling plaster and insulation. Additionally, Cambium was retained by the Corporation of the City of Peterborough to complete a cursory ACM survey of 62 buildings within the City of Peterborough. The survey was used to determine the number and type of potential asbestos containing samples used to develop a detailed Request for Tender. The screening survey was used by the City of Peterborough to ensure the retained sampling contractor acquired the appropriate quantity and type of samples and also provided the City of Peterborough with an assurance that the project would not be in excess of the predetermined budget.
