Non-Agricultural Source Material (NASM) Planning
As a result of recent legislative revisions to the Regulations of the Nutrient Management Act (NMA; 2002), the management of biosolids through land application as a beneficial nutrient has changed. Based on the criteria contained within the NMA and Ontario Regulation 267/03, a non-agricultural source materials plan (NASM Plan) must almost always be prepared before NASM is applied to agricultural land. The Land application of any sewage biosolids always requires the development and approval of a NASM Plan. As stated in the legislation, NASM Plans must be completed by a certified NASM Plan Developer.

Nutrient Management Plans & Strategies
The management of agricultural source materials such as manure, runoff, and washwater produced on farms also often requires the development of a Nutrient Management Strategy and larger operations require a Nutrient Management Plan. The intent of these strategies/plans is to ensure the optimal and efficient use of nutrients on farms in order to increase yields, to decrease cost and use of synthetic fertilizers by farmers, and to protect water resources from potential impacts related to the over-use of nutrients.
Cambium is pleased to assist agricultural operators in the development and implementation of a strategy or plan for their operations in order for them to realize the immediate and long term financial and environmental benefits of competent nutrient management planning.
